SPECTACULAR AND STUNNING SYDNEY

Sightseeing / Dining / Afterdark
No-where on the planet has a more spectacular backdrop than Sydney, with its beautiful natural harbour graced by not one, but two architectural icons — the Harbour Bridge and one of the most stunning man-made wonders of the world, Sydney Opera House.

< Sightseeing >
Ocean beaches to the north and south compliment the harbour with Australian surf culture, epitomised by the legendary Bondi Beach.

The best way to see the harbour close-up is aboard a cruise on the Bounty, a local ferry or from the Opera House itself.

Even if you don't catch one of the numerous performances, at least sit back at the outdoor cafes over a bottle of white wine - and soak-in one of your most memorable experiences in life!

Within strolling distance, The Rocks is the oldest part of Sydney - and also the quaintest, with cobbled streets, craft shops and historic pubs. For your itinerary by day or night.

Darling Harbour is a huge touristy waterfront leisure park housing Sydney Aquarium, for a close-up encounter with the famous local sharks, and the spectacular Powerhouse Museum. A more breathtaking tourist attraction is climbing the Harbour Bridge! You're guided and tied-on, so it's not dangerous, but a head for heights helps!

Equally exciting is the unique sport of "Aussie Rules". Sports fans shouldn't miss a game if Sydney Swans are playing. It's a quintessential Australian experience!

More sedately, the shopping hub is Pitt Street Mall — one of the largest shopping mazes in Australia. The famous Paddington Market is every Saturday.

< Dining >
Dining in Australia is not all about meat pies, although you'll find some wonderful fish & chips, Lebanese cafes and family-style Italian pizza parlours. For some of the finest (and at around AUS$25, affordable) dining in the world, try Rockpool, MG Garage, bel mondo, Tetsuya's and Restaurant VII. In Chinatown, try Golden Century or Kam Fook Shark's Fin Seafood, a riotous 800-seat yum cha emporium.

< Afterdark >
After dark, walk on the wild side at your peril in King's Cross, or settle for The Rocks. Globe Bar is a celebrity hang-out. Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel is one of the city's oldest pubs. For down-to-earth music and crowds, The Slip Inn is a 5-minute taxi-ride away.
